What cookies and similar storage are
A cookie is a small piece of information a website can ask your browser to store and send back on later visits, often used to remember you, track your activity, or personalise content. Similar browser storage technologies (such as local storage) can be used for comparable purposes.
Xiliro's current position
Xiliro's own code does not set any cookies. Every calculator, converter, and other tool works from the information on the page in front of you, with nothing carried over between visits. The only browser storage Xiliro's own code uses at all is the small cookie/privacy-preference record described below, which remembers your own choice and nothing else. It does not identify you, does not track your activity, and is not used to personalise anything.
Cookie and privacy preferences
Every page has a "Cookie preferences" control (in the footer) for recording whether you would allow optional analytics, advertising personalisation, and affiliate tracking if any of these were ever switched on. This choice is stored in your browser's own local storage, not a cookie, and contains only which categories you chose, a version number for that choice, and the date you chose it. It never contains anything you have entered into a calculator, the search box, or any other tool.
All three optional categories remain switched off by default.
The analytics category controls whether Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is allowed to run. Xiliro includes the code that can load it, but it only runs for visitors who choose to turn it on, and it never receives anything you type into a calculator, the search box, or any other tool.
Advertising cookies are not currently active on Xiliro at all, since no advertising script is present on the Site today. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.
You can review or change your choice at any time using the same control. Blocking or clearing your browser's local storage simply resets the choice back to "not yet decided": it never breaks any calculator.
Strictly necessary infrastructure
Like most websites, the underlying hosting and security infrastructure that serves Xiliro to your browser may need to use a strictly necessary cookie or similar technology of its own, for example to protect the Site against abuse or to route a request correctly. This is standard infrastructure-level behaviour outside Xiliro's own code, is not used to track you across other websites, and is not something we currently expect a typical visitor to need to manage.
Local tool processing
A calculator's inputs and results live only in the page's memory while you are using it. This is not a cookie or stored file, and disappears the moment you close or refresh the page.
The Currency Converter's network request
Converting a currency amount makes a live network request to Frankfurter, an independent exchange-rate data service, to fetch the current reference rate. This is a one-off request, not a cookie: no cookie is set by Xiliro or, to our knowledge, by Frankfurter, as a result of this request. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is and is not sent.
Browser controls
Your browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies and site storage at any time, usually from its settings or privacy menu. Since Xiliro's own code does not depend on any cookie to work, blocking cookies should not affect your ability to use any tool on the Site.
Future updates
If Xiliro's use of cookies or similar storage ever changes, this page will be updated before that change goes live, and will describe the change accurately rather than in general terms. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last substantively revised.
