Free calculators, converters and practical tools

Small tools for everyday questions

Xiliro brings together 47 calculators and practical tools for everyday tasks, work, study and quick problem-solving.

Use it to work out a percentage, check a price reduction while shopping, add VAT or a tip, or find the number of days between two dates. You can convert kilometres and miles, or one currency into another, and scale a recipe up or down.

There are also tools for averages and statistics, counting words, generating passwords and UUIDs, creating QR codes, compound interest and other everyday maths, along with an Adult BMI Calculator for an informational adult BMI check.

No account is needed. Most tools work directly in your browser, so the values you enter into ordinary calculators are processed locally. Where a tool needs outside data, such as the Currency Converter, it says where that data comes from.

How Xiliro works

Choose a tool, enter your values, and get a result immediately. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no unnecessary steps. Most tools calculate entirely in your browser; the Currency Converter is the one exception, which sends only the two currency codes you chose to Frankfurter to fetch a reference rate.

Why results are explained

A number on its own can be misleading if you don't know the convention behind it: whether a day count is inclusive or exclusive, which quartile method was used, or whether a rate came from a sourced preset or a figure you typed yourself. Xiliro's tools state that convention on the page, next to the result, rather than leaving you to guess or assume it matches a different tool you've used before.

Accuracy and calculation standards

Every calculator uses a standard, well-established method, never a private or invented one, and is covered by an automated test suite. Where a subject has more than one legitimate convention, or depends on an external source, the tool says so. See Editorial & Calculation Standards for the full principles, and the Corrections Policy for how a reported error is investigated.

Privacy

Your input is processed locally in your browser in Xiliro's current implementation, for the great majority of tools. No account is required for ordinary calculator use. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what the Currency Converter sends externally, and for Xiliro's current, consent-gated analytics position.

International use

Xiliro is written in UK English with metric units shown first where relevant, but most tools work equally well for a US, Australian, or other international reader. Converters keep US customary and Imperial units genuinely distinct rather than treating them as interchangeable, and number entry is locale-aware.

Nursing hub

Studying nursing maths, or working shifts? The Nursing Maths & Shift Toolkit hub brings together fictional practice questions with worked solutions, shift and time tools, and everyday unit conversions in one place.

Trust and standards

Every calculator follows a documented, tested standard. See About Xiliro for who builds it, or Editorial & Calculation Standards for the principles behind every result. The footer below links to every trust and legal page.
