Corrections Policy

Xiliro aims to be accurate and to fix genuine mistakes promptly. This page explains how a report is handled once it reaches us.
How to report an issue
Contact help@xiliro.com and describe what you found. Including the following helps us reproduce and fix it quickly, where relevant:
- the tool or page affected;
- its URL;
- what the issue is;
- the result or value you got;
- the result or value you expected instead;
- a source, if you have one, for what the correct result or figure should be;
- a screenshot, if that would help explain it.
Please do not send passwords, bank details, patient information, prescription records, or confidential workplace information. A rounded or example version of the same figures is usually enough for us to investigate.
Priority
Reports are not all treated the same way. In roughly descending priority, we look first at:
- Health safety concerns: anything on the Adult BMI Calculator that could be read as diagnostic, alarming, or unsafe.
- Calculation errors: a wrong result, an incorrect formula, or a unit conversion that does not match the stated definition.
- Accessibility barriers: anything preventing a tool being used with a keyboard or assistive technology; see the Accessibility page for what is already in place.
- Factual issues: an incorrect statement, source citation, or worked example in a tool's explanatory content; see Editorial & Calculation Standards for the principles a correction is checked against.
Investigation
A reported calculation issue is checked against the tool's stated method and, where relevant, against an independently calculated expected result, never simply re-run through the same code to see if it "looks right". A genuine error is corrected in the underlying calculation, not just in the displayed figure.
Testing before publication
A correction to a calculator's logic is covered by an automated regression test before it is published, so the same mistake cannot silently return in a later change.
Correction records
A material correction is one that changes a previously published result, not just wording or presentation. For a material correction, Xiliro keeps an internal record of what was wrong, why, and what changed. This is an internal record, not a page published for every minor wording fix.
Response times
Xiliro is currently run by one person, so we cannot promise a fixed response time or that every report will result in a change. A report made in bad faith, or that is abusive, may not receive a reply.
