- Median
- Mode
- Range
- Minimum
- Maximum
- Sum
Worked example
The average of 10, 20 and 30 is 20, because (10 + 20 + 30) ÷ 3 = 20.
How it works
This tool's primary purpose is the arithmetic mean of a list of numbers you enter (the sum of the numbers divided by how many there are), shown alongside a few related figures for context. For median, mode and range as the primary focus, with sorted values and step-by-step workings, see Mean, Median, Mode & Range. If any entry cannot be read as a number, the whole calculation stops and tells you which entry to fix, rather than silently leaving it out of the average.
What this result means
The headline result is the arithmetic mean of your numbers. The calculator also shows the median, mode, range, minimum, maximum and sum of the same list, calculated the same way as the dedicated Mean, Median, Mode & Range tool.
