Hours Calculator

Add up a list of hour-and-minute durations to find the total.

One duration per line, as H:MM, e.g. 2:30, 1:45, 3:00.

Worked example

2:30, 1:45 and 3:00 add up to a total of 7 hours 15 minutes (7.25 hours).

How we calculated this

Enter one duration per line as hours and minutes separated by a colon (H:MM), for example 2:30 for two and a half hours. Minutes must be between 00 and 59. This tool simply adds the durations together; it is not a payroll or timesheet calculator and does not apply an hourly rate, overtime rules, or automatic breaks. The decimal-hours figure shown alongside the total is a plain decimal representation (for example 7.25), not a clock time. This tool exists separately from Time Duration Calculator, which calculates elapsed time between two exact date-times rather than totalling a list of already-known durations.

What this result means

The result is the sum of every duration you entered, shown as a total time and in decimal hours.
