Remove extra spaces, tabs and blank lines from text.
Worked example
"hello world " on one line, with several blank lines before the next paragraph, becomes "hello world" followed by a single blank line.
How this works
This tool: collapses repeated spaces and tabs within a line to one space; removes leading and trailing spaces/tabs from each line; collapses multiple consecutive blank lines down to a single blank line; and removes blank lines from the very start and end of the text. Ordinary line breaks between lines of content are always kept. This does not turn your text into one long paragraph. Nothing else changes: punctuation, wording, and Unicode characters are left exactly as entered. This tool does not interpret HTML or decode any entities. Cleaning happens only when you press the button. Your original text is never altered automatically.
What this result means
The result is your text with unnecessary whitespace removed, and the count of characters removed is shown alongside it.
